Carlisle couldn't help but laugh at her sarcasm. Temperance seemed to have a good sense of humour at least. "I'm sure they are only like this because they care about you." He said to her, with another smile. He knew he would be exactly the same with his family. Over bearing would be the least of their worries, if he started on at them. A slightly alien thing for him, as he hadn't had to be very protective of them, especially of late with things looking up for them. He knew it was maybe wrong to think, but he was waiting for the next catastrophe, and fight.
"Thats good" He said about skipping checkups, they were not exactly something that should be forgotten about. "You have a horse? Do you do show jumping?" He asked her curiously, sure horses made great thirst quenchers, however the one he picked were wild, and not owned by people. "Anyone can take my cell any day. Too many people calling at totally ridiculous time of day" he joked, knowing that he had picked the job, so the calls were something of a bonus. He grinned at laughed as Temperance spoke, "I shall need to think of a new line then, one that you haven't heard before." he joked, thinking about how many times a day he said the exact same thing. "May I?" he asked her kindly, he could already hear her heart but then explaining that to her... well it would be better to use the stethoscope rather then give her an explanation.

Temperance nodded. She looked up at him and smiled happily when he asked about her horse. She loved to talk about horses. Yes I do. No, not show jumping. I'm like to barrel race, rope cattle, and basically trail ride. But my horse does know how to jump if there every is a time where that is needed. She said and smiled once more. Tempy chuckled when Carlisle said that anyone could take his cell also, at least they had something in common.
That's what you get for being a doctor. Tempy said and smiled to show that she was just kidding. She sighed and sat up when Carlisle asked if he could use the stethoscope. I guess. She said and smiled softly. She swallowed and waited for the cold metal.

Carlisle guessed that he had better get to know some people, especially his patients. After all, he had the time for them so why not. " Barrel race, rope cattle and tail ride. That is a lot. I hope it does" he said to her smiling, "So is it easy to do then the barrel racing and things?" He asked her politely. Carlisle's cell he would gladly chuck, though it had become a part of him with work, and a quick way to keep in touch with everyone. How technology had changed over the years.
"Who would want to be, I may have been a little crazy to pick this profession. " He joked, as he smiled back at her. Carlisle nodded to her, "It wont be so bad." He said reassuringly, though he wasn't sure how much good it would do. He put the stethoscope to her chest, as he listened to her heart for a moment. He brought the stethoscope around to her back, and listened again, as he took a few steps back, and smiled. "It seems that everything is in order. Temperance you Heart is fine." He said to her.

Temperance nodding in agreement when Carlisle said that there was a lot of events that she liked. There were a lot, but each one was as fun as the next. Show jumping? It's definitely easier than cattle roping. Harder than trail riding since all you do is ride on a trail. But barrel racing and jumping are probably the same skill level. She said. Both needed great balance and concentration of both horse and rider.
Tempy smiled when Carlisle said he had to of been crazy when he decided to be a doctor. For some reason she had to agree on the craziness. She never wanted to be a doctor. Tempy shivered as the cold metal touched first her chest and then her back. She relaxed slowly when he moved the stethoscope away and said that her heart was fine. That's good. She said and smiled softly.

"Wow sounds like you really do love your horse. I dont think that I shall be stepping near one, they tend not to like me. Especially when they throw you off." he said with a grin, the one time he had been on a horse, it was spooked, and ran. That was after it threw Carlisle to the floor. An unfortunate accident, that left him unscathed and well with a slight wariness of horses.
Carlisle nodded as she spoke, "Yes it is. I told you there was nothing to worry about" He replied kindly to her. "I am guessing that you have heard that line before as well." he said, as he smiled again. He hadn't much thought about how repetitive their sayings were. "I just have a couple more questions for you, if that's ok?" He asked her politely, as he went back to his desk and sat down, as he opened her file.

Temperance nodded and smiled. She didn't know what she would without him. The only thing that was keeping them apart was school and she wouldn't be in school for long. She looked up at Carlisle when he said that he wouldn't be going near any horses for a while. Ah, my friends that have ridden before and have been bucked off give me the same story. Tempy said with a soft smile.
She smiled once more when Carlisle told her that everything was alright. Something she expected. She nodded and leaned back in her chair. Yes every time a doctor said it she felt a bit of deja vu. She watched as he moved behind his desk and sit done. Then he opened her file. She already knew what he was going to ask before he said. But she let him ask the question before replying. No, I don't mind. Tempy said.

Carlisle chuckled as she spoke, "Horses and I just don't tend to mix too well. Though I'm sure there is a good enough reason for it." He said to her, as she returned her smile. Horses were something That Carlisle had to deal with in his past, but now the form of travel was by car, plane or foot or bus. So he wasn't obliged to go to work by horse. He felt it safer to keep his distance, as one fall for him, was enough to keep him away for life.
Carlisle nodded, knowing repetitive, he must sound. All the doctors before him must have ask the same, and kept asking it every month. Well he didn't have much of a choice with it, so he figured that he had better ask. "So have you had any chest pains, or shortness of breath recently?" He asked her, as he smiled a little. Everything seemed fine to him, but then he could never be to careful.

Temperance gave a small nod and smile. She kind of understood. In a way. But not completely. She was just so use to loving horses and being around people who also loved horses that she just couldn't comprehend someone not liking horses. But she was sure after she thought about it for a while she would fully understand.
Tempy laid her hands in her lap and looked around the room with a small yawn. Her gaze finally settled on Carlisle when he asked the first couple of questions. She thought about it before answering. Had she had any chest pains. Nope. has she had any shortness of breath lately? Nada.
No and no. She said and smiled. Tempy adjusted her pony tail and sighed. She rested her elbow on the arm of the chair and put her chin into the palm of her hand. Her gaze went around the room again before settling on Carlisle once more.

Well it was Carlisle problem with the horses, he had always thought that maybe they could sense he was not... well that he was not human. He had always put it down to that, that he himself spooked them, and there was nothing worse than a spooked horse. He was glad that there were alternate options to travel in this centaury. Car and buss and foot for him, was far safer, and well less strange for him.
It was just the questions that he needed to ask, standard every day stuff, she must have heard over and over. But there was no escaping it, if he didn't ask then he would be in trouble, and it was better to ask and get an answer to see that Temperance was ok and well, than her walk out and be back later on with something more serious.
"Well everything seems sound to me. Temperance you are fine for another month, but if there are any other symptoms, or just something doesn't feel right, just stop by and i shall see you again." He told her with a smile. Her heart was good to go for another month, until she came back to go through the whole thing again. He looked back at her as he kept his smile, "Is there anything else you want to ask me about, or talk about while you are here?" He asked her politely, as he closed her file, after writing in it quickly.
